Monday, January 15, we celebrate King Day to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Since 1986, this federal holiday commemorates the legacy of the iconic Dr. King, Jr., who practiced nonviolent protests to advocate for civil rights reform in the 1960s. He was also the youngest man to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Some citizens even celebrate the day by volunteering in neighboring communities.
